Elevador de Santa Justa

We were walking around in the city, right next to the big Rossio square into the Rua Aurea. To the left was the famous Elevador de Santa Justa, a Neo-Gothic decorated built at the beginning of the 20th century by an apprentice of Gustave Eiffel. The elevator was designed to transport Lisboetas from Baixa, the lower part of the city, to the Bairro Alto district above. It was kind of cool with its 150-foot height.
